This is my setting description

Mahika
It was a gorgeous day . The clouds were as white as toothpaste. It was a tropical paradise. There was a gentle sea breeze, slightly cooling the air, providing some mercy from the hot, glaring sun beaming down .
The cold ,concrete walls were white and hard .  The texture of some of the houses looked mildly bumpy while others looked smooth. The houses had bright, radiant blue rooftops and the windows were detailed.  The houses were as pretty as a castle but even better. Most houses looked well maintained.  Some houses were bright and some were dull . Over one of the balconies were denim blue jeans that had been left to dry in the blazing sun.  . Plants grew in pot plants outside a few of the houses and looked to be flourishing. The houses were located in Santorini in the greek islands .Down below the dwellings was an exquisite ocean.  It was a dark, navy blue colour but the further you looked out the lighter it would get. Spaced around the island of Santorini, were large and small rocks and mountains that  were as large as monsters rising from the sea and they were furthest away  . There were boats ,canoes and other cruising vessels in this inviting warm sea
Overall the feeling of this wonderful it is hot and tropical. It makes a good vacation spot. It is very beautiful.

One afternoon, Mum, Dad, Harper and Max were having a nice picnic near a wooden bridge it looked to be well managed  and could hold around 30 people. The kids and asked the parents if they could go for a splash in the lake that was beneath the bridge. The parents said yes and then they changed into their togs and jumped in. 20 minutes later, they saw a few people across the lake doing  human cannonballs. But then Harper scared Max and told him that you would die if you went in it, and then he started crying, she reassured him and told him it was a joke . There were many children at the lake that day having fun in the sun. Then came a pushy Kid from their school. Harper and Max had an excuse to go to the toilet so they didn’t have to be around pushy kid. The pushy kid was mean and he had the force like yoda. Max, Harper and pushy kid had a long discussion between themselves. After they  jumped with joy as they solved the problems between them.

I rate our prediction a 3 1\2 out of 10. We got the part about them going on a picnic and jumping off a bridge right but everything else was wrong

This is my speech 2019

Why kids should have phones

Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat ,Facebook and YouTube are all platforms that you can access on what?  Here’s another clue…Nearly all adults have these devices but unfortunately most kids DON’T which is terrible because WE NEED THEM!  Today I will be persuading you that all kids should have phones. Man.. I should have a phone so that I can post my face all over Instagram!  Phones teach kids responsibility and they can help us communicate and keep safe. Apps also educate and entertain children… and who doesn’t want that!

Paragraph one: Apps
My happy place!  Well, at least they would be if I had a phone!  Adults have phones with an array of apps on them to make their lives easier, more entertaining, convenient and safe.  For example, internet banking allows them to check their bank accounts, pay bills, transfer money and budget for things and Uber Eats allows them to order food to their chosen destination whenever they feel peckish.  Oh… and I can’t forget Facebook, Twitter or Instagram which provide adults with a way to communicate and share their ideas and experiences with others. But why should adults get to have all the fun and benefits of this great technological device?  What about us,........ Don’t we matter too? There are many apps that are made for children and we want to have the chance to enjoy these. There are apps for entertainment such as: Netflix, and YouTube, educational apps such as: Kahoot, crossword puzzles, Sudoku and Subway Surfers……………... of course ! There are too many to list but you get the idea, right?  Come on parents! Don’t punish us and keep us in the dark ages. Let us in on the fun!

 Paragraph two: communication

Secondly, phones are beneficial for children as they help them to communicate and keep safe. They are useful for contacting parents or other trusted adults whenever you need to.  For example, if you are lost for some reason, if you haven’t been picked up from school or an activity or if you want to be picked up from your friend’s house. Teenagers might need a cell phone in the car and  in general just in case they breakdown and are far from home or they crash and need to call for help. If you need to check something or ask an important question or remind your parents about something important that is happening at school the next day, a cellphone is a must!  I want to challenge my parents to last a day without any mobile devices and see if they could do it!

Paragraph three: teaches responsibility

A cell phone can teach your child responsibility since they have to learn how to take care of it by keeping it charged and in working condition, I could totally do that! You can also use the phone as a tool to teach financial responsibility.  Set guidelines for what aspects you will pay for such as texts and apps. set a limit of minutes and texts each month and outline the extras such as ringtones, and backgrounds, that your child has to pay for.

I hope I have successfully persuaded you that kids should have phones.  Cell phones help children to communicate, keep safe and learn responsibility.  They also help to educate and entertain them. Now all you parents, GO OUT AND BUY YOUR KIDS PHONES!!!!!!
