My Recount

Where, who, what, when, Sentence starters, Interesting vocab,

I was 6 years old in 2015 and I was living in India with my parents and grandparents.  Firstly, my family was spending 3 months in India and this was my first day going out into the open world.

My favourite day started with getting ready in my apartment while my brother was in the shower.  All of our family was getting ready at the time. Once we were all presentable we set off on our adventure.  The first stop of our journey was a well-known park in Mumbai called Shivaji park. As we were walking to our destination. I heard people talking to their mates and having chai. Some kids were playing hopscotch outside their home and there were thousands of people shopping for dresses, jewellery and much more! Eventually, after a long time, we arrived as it was a weekday and there was lots of traffic on the roads, not many kids were at the park. I was playing on the swings and going on the roundabout and then…. I came to my favourite slide. It wasn't like a normal slide. It had a bumpy surface and you would feel the vibration of it. I went on this slide like a hundred times because it was really fun.

Our next stop was to go to holi powder shopping. In India, it was the holi season and there was a rush at the shops so it took us 1 HOUR!! In the end, there wasn't any colour because it was sold out! So finally we got guns to shoot people with the powder in the building' car park.

But….. I did smell Indian street food so I pleaded my dad to buy me some pav bhaji and he said YES! 'This is my time to eat the yummiest food in the world!' I considered. One eternity later… My dad and I subsequently reached a food truck which marketed pav bhaji. My dad paid and we lingered around the area for about 15 minutes. Next, the waiter gave us our cuisine and we talked about stuff. As I was eating I saw even more people chatting. But then I wondered' Do these people go to work?!' Well, we finally finished our food and we started walking back to where my grandparents and family were.

Lastly, my grandma asked” Do you and Viehaan want to go on a horse ride” of course, we said YES! because who doesn't want to go on a light-up horse carriage. Afterwards, we waited for a horse to come back around. While I was hanging about I saw people drinking chai and eating snack items at local shops. I speculated 'Why do people in this country love eating' Finally, after a century, the horse carriage came and we hopped on. While the horse was galloping, along the road, I was enjoying the experience, while it lasted. I could hear trucks passing by and cars honking at each other. I saw people at the beach and sitting on the benches and talking.  After 2 rounds of going around the city. My family and I went back home.

Overall this day was the best day in India. This was the day that I remember the most.
